Murray State’s Isaiah Canaan leads school to record start

Murray State is 18-0 for the first time in school history thanks in large part to the play of point guard Isaiah Canaan. Canaan is a 6 foot point guard out of Biloxi, Mississipi who is averaging more than 18ppg and 4 assists per game. His stature reminds me of Jameer Nelson who also had an impressive college career. Canaan led his high school team to the state 5A championships and was a runner up for Mr Basketball in Mississippi. With his proven ability to win, Isaiah seems well on his way to becoming a household name in the NBA, much like his namesake Isaiah Thomas. If your looking for Jimmer Fredette style heroics this year, look no further.

A gunman went on a wild shooting spree in Hollywood last week killing a music executive and wounding several others. The man was stressed over a break-up with his girlfriend. He was killed by police at the scene.

Lamar Odom traded to Dallas

Lamar Odom has been traded to the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks and the Lakers are no longer going after Chris Paul. Instead they are now focusing on getting Dwight Howard from Orlando. This is a good move for the Mavericks in my opinion getting a quality big man and loosing no player in return. The Lakers will receive an exemption. Pau Gasol is still a Laker. This is a good look for Lamar, time to move on to greener pastures.
